Roy Horn says he is 'back' from mauling

LAS VEGAS, Oct. 2 (UPI) -- Two years after being mauled by a tiger on stage in Las Vegas, Roy Horn tells the Las Vegas Sun he's feeling "splendid."

Monday is Horn's 61st birthday and anniversary of when the trainer half of Las Vegas' legendary Siegfried & Roy was bitten on the neck and head and dragged from the stage of the Mirage by a white tiger.

After two years of rehab, he can talk again and walks with a cane. He can walk short distances unaided, the Sun said.

"The magic is back," Horn told the newspaper.

He spends three hours a day at a rehab clinic and no longer takes painkillers, he said.

When asked if he plans on returning to show business, he told the Sun: "I never left -- I never left."
