WWE goes silently to USA Network

Sept. 28, 2005 at 8:42 PM   |   Comments

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 28 (UPI) -- World Wrestling Entertainment ended its partnership with Spike TV on a quiet note when WWE chief Vince McMahon's mike was cut off during his farewell speech.

Spike TV cut off McMahon when he mentioned "Monday Night Raw" would be moving from the network to USA Network, the Hollywood Reporter said.

McMahon was signing off the telecast with: "Next week 'Monday Night RAW' returns home."

He continued: "Next week, 'Monday Night RAW' returns" -- at which point the sound was cut so viewers didn't hear "USA Network," the Reporter said.
