NEW YORK, Sept. 27 (UPI) -- Hustler magazine publisher Larry Flynt says he may switch political parties because Democrats are too paranoid.
The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, chaired by Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., recently returned a $2,500 contribution from Flynt, the New York Post reported Tuesday.
"I've been a Democrat all my life, but I'm considering switching to another party," Flynt said through a spokeswoman. "My heart is with the Democratic Party, but I'm tired of their paranoia. I am not asking them to endorse what I do. I'm just asking that they take my money and use it for their party's needs."
The spokeswoman said Flynt has been making small contributions to the Republicans for 20 years, "so that he can read their literature and keep up with their platform."
