The Swedish stamps will be available to collectors at the New York event, the U.S. Postal Service said in a news release.

The single U.S. design is a black-and-white image of Garbo made during the 1932 filming of "As You Desire Me." Sweden is issuing two stamps, one similar to the U.S. design and the second a graphic depiction of the actress.

Greta Lovisa Gustafson was born in Stockholm on Sept. 18, 1905. She moved to the United States at age 19 to star in films for MGM.

She became a U.S. citizen in 1955 and died April 15, 1990, in her adopted hometown of New York.
