ATLANTA, Sept. 21 (UPI) -- Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane was injured in a jailhouse attack the same day his record label, Big Cat Records, was raided by a SWAT team.

The rapper, whose real name is Radric Davis, was attacked Tuesday in the Fulton, Ga., County jail by a convicted murderer, AllHipHop.com reported. The rapper reportedly suffered multiple injuries including facial lacerations and lost several teeth.

His attorney, Dennis Scheib, is seeking have him sent to a safer facility while he awaits his Oct. 4 trial for aggravated assault, the Web site reported.

Meanwhile, an Atlanta SWAT team raided the Big Cat offices Tuesday after receiving an anonymous tip of an armed person in the building, AllHipHop.com said. No weapons were found.

Davis, who recorded the hit "So Icy" with friend-turned-foe Young Jeezy, is accused in two separate attacks on promoters. He is also suspected in the shooting death of a Jeezy associate in May, AllHipHop.com said.

He is jailed without bond and has been moved to an isolation cell for his own protection.
