LOS ANGELES, Sept. 19 (UPI) -- The cable network TV Land announced plans to go dark for one hour on Family Day to encourage families to dine together.
The channel will halt all programming from 6-7 p.m. on Sept. 26, TV Week reported on its Web site.
"Pre-empting TV Land's normal programming schedule is a symbolic gesture on our part to remind families of the importance of eating dinner together and sharing more than just meals at the table," Larry Jones, president of TV Land and Nick at Nite, said in a statement.
