LOS ANGELES, Sept. 13 (UPI) -- German supermodel Heidi Klum and her husband, British pop star Seal, have welcomed their first child together, a boy born in Los Angeles.

The infant was born Monday night, Klum's publicist told "Entertainment Tonight" and "The Insider."

Klum, 32, and Seal, 42, were married in May on a Mexican beach, People magazine said. The couple had been dating since February 2004.

Seal was at the model's side in New York when she gave birth to her first child 16-months ago, a daughter, Leni, by her ex-boyfriend Flavio Briatore.

Although he is not her biological father, Seal dedicated his last album "Best: 1991-2004" to "my daughter Leni," People said.

Klum's publicist said the new mom is hopeful she will be able to make her scheduled appearance at the Emmy Awards Sunday night.
