NEW YORK, Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Trendsetters and stylemakers are in New York for the city's annual Fashion Week, dedicated this year to the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Gwen Stefani, David Bowie, Destiny's Child, Sean "Diddy" Combs, Alicia Keyes and Shakira were just a few of the personalities kicking off the weeklong festivities at Radio City Music Hall Thursday night, the New York Post reported. Proceeds from the star-studded Fashion Rocks concert were donated to hurricane relief efforts.

Destiny's Child wore outfits designed by Beyonce's mother's label, House of Dreon, while Stefani modeled a white dress from her label, L.A.M.B.

A record number of celebrities are expected to attend the festivities, during which 70 top designers will unveil their collections for next spring and summer, the Post said.
