Will Ferrell NASCAR flick starts shooting

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Sept. 7 (UPI) -- Production is under way in Charlotte, N.C., on an untitled NASCAR comedy starring Will Ferrell.

Director Adam Kay and his crew began shooting around the city Tuesday for the movie written by Ferrell and Jimmy Miller, Zap2it.com reported.

Ferrell plays NASCAR racer Ricky Bobby who goes by a "win at all cost" strategy, Zap2it.com said. His best friend and teammate, played by John C. Reilly, always settles for second place.

A battle of cars and wills breaks out when the team is challenged by a French Formula One driver played by Sacha Baron Cohen.

Leslie Bibb plays Ferrell's wife and Gary Cole, Jane Lynch and Michael Clarke Duncan are also aboard, Zap2it.com said.
