LOS ANGELES, Sept. 7 (UPI) -- "Alias" star Greg Grunberg is jumping ship from ABC to NBC to star in the pilot of its newest sitcom, "Grand Union."

Grunberg will play the manager of a Long Island grocery store who has to deal with an off-beat family that includes a rebellious teen daughter and a dim-witted brother, Daily Variety reported Wednesday.

The pilot will probably be shot next month for midseason consideration, Variety said.

Grunberg played Agent Eric Weiss on "Alias" and portrayed Sean on the WB's "Felicity."

He also had a brief role as the pilot of the crashed plane on ABC's "Lost."

He was eaten by unseen creatures in the first episode.
