'Charlie & the Chocolate Factory' smells

TOKYO, Sept. 6 (UPI) -- The thick smell of chocolate permeated the air during the premiere of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" at Tokyo's Virgin Toho Cinemas.

The Aromatrix, a device made by a U.S. environmental air quality management company, released the chocolate scent several times throughout the Monday night's premiere, Japan Today reported Tuesday.

The Aromatix was used during U.S. previews as well, Promotool, which markets the device in Japan, said.

However, the firm said it does not intend to use the Aromatrix during any other Japan showings of the Johnny Depp film, which opens nationwide next weekend.
