NEW YORK, Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Actor Michael C. Hall, best known as David Fisher on HBO's "Six Feet Under," is returning to the New York stage.

Hall will star in the title role of the Roundabout Theatre Company's Off-Broadway production of Noah Haidle's "Mr. Marmalade," Playbill On-Line reported Friday.

The comedy, directed by Michael Grief of "Rent," is scheduled to begin previews Nov. 1 and open at the Laura Pels Theatre Nov. 20.

Hall is a New York stage veteran and briefly returned to Broadway in "Chicago" opposite his wife Amy Spanger during a "Six Feet Under" hiatus, Playbill said. His other stage credits include "Skylight," "Corpus Christi," "The English Teachers," "Cymbeline," "Macbeth," "Henry V," "Timon of Athens," "Romeo and Juliet," "Much Ado About Nothing" and "Camelot."
