Alba, Christensen to star in 'Awake'

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 1 (UPI) -- Jessica Alba and Hayden Christensen are starring in the medical thriller "Awake," which will mark the directorial debut of Joby Harold.

Harold wrote the script about a man who finds himself awake and aware, but paralyzed, during surgery, Daily Variety reported.

Producer Joana Vicente said the film jointly financed by the Weinstein Co. and GreeneStreet will "do to surgery what 'Jaws' did to swimming in the ocean."

The film will start shooting in New York in October.
