NEW YORK, Aug. 30 (UPI) -- Robert Redford says the media glare that has long plagued Jennifer Lopez did not affect work on the set of their new film, "An Unfinished Life."

"I didn't think about that because I didn't have to. We were in Canada in a very remote place and we were working there as actors. She was just Jennifer," Redford told reporters in New York last week.

Past media reports have portrayed the pop singer/actress as a demanding, limelight-loving diva.

Since breaking up with movie star Ben Affleck and marrying crooner Marc Anthony last year, however, she has stayed out of the headlines, preferring to concentrate on her marriage and multiple careers.

"We were playing parts in a movie and she didn't bring with her any of the business stuff," Redford continued. "She's a talented actor, so I just enjoyed her, but I never thought about her audience or anything like that."

Opening in theaters Sept. 9, "An Unfinished Life" casts Redford and Lopez as estranged in-laws mourning a terrible loss.
