
NEW YORK, Aug. 30 (UPI) -- Actor Gabe Kaplan's character on "Welcome Back Kotter" has been named the Most Memorable Teacher on Television by Inside TV magazine.
Second on the magazine's Top 10 list was Fox TV's cartoon teacher Edna Krabapple from "The Simpsons."
The others include Melissa Gilbert's Laura Ingalls on "Little House on the Prairie," college professor Ross Geller as played by David Schwimmer on "Friends," Howard Hesseman played by Charlie Moore on "Head of the Class," Mark Cooper played by Mark Curry on "Hangin' with Mr. Cooper" and Henry Winkler's Fonzie, who evolved into a high school shop teacher on "Happy Days."
Crush magnet Carol Vessey played by Julie Bowen on "Ed" was No. 8, followed by Debbie Allen's dance teacher Lydia Grant on "Fame" and prep school teacher Max Medina, played by Scott Cohen on the "Gilmore Girls."
