Toni Braxton celebrates album on TV

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 29 (UPI) -- R&B singer Toni Braxton is planning a number of TV appearances to back up her first studio album since 2002, Billboard.com reported Monday.

"Libra" will be Braxton's first album under her new contract with Blackground Records/Universal. It's due out on Sept. 27.

To support the album, Braxton co-hosting the Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards Sept. 7 in Pasadena, Calif., and will appear the following week on ABC's World Music Awards broadcast. She will also perform during BET's 25th anniversary special in October.

Her first single off the new album, "Please," is No. 40 this week on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
