BURBANK, Calif., Aug. 29 (UPI) -- Jury selection began Monday in the California wrongful death suit filed against actor Robert Blake by the family of his slain wife, Bonny Lee Bakley.
Blake, 71, was acquitted of murder charges in his wife's May 2001 shooting death outside a Studio City restaurant.

Bakley's four children filed suit against Blake in April 2002, but the civil case was put on hold until the criminal case concluded, KABC-TV, Los Angeles, reported Monday.
Attorneys for the heirs have not disclosed how much money they are seeking. They turned down a settlement offer of $250,000 from the former "Baretta" star.
The trial is expected to take three to six weeks.
