EDINBURGH, Scotland, Aug. 28 (UPI) -- Plans are being made by the estate of author Ian Fleming to commission a new James Bond novel, 55 years after Agent 007 made his literary debut.
The author has not been chosen yet, but Ian Fleming Publications told Sunday's Scotsman to expect an established author to take Bond's character back to the dark, complex nature seen in Fleming's early novels.
The novel will be released in 2008 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Fleming's birth.
Fleming introduced his dapper agent with the 1953 "Casino Royale" and went on to write 14 more books and spawned a number of sequels after his death in 1964.
Most recently, author Charlie Higson has found worldwide success with his "young Bond" series of novels.
