Big retailers are aggressively vying for exclusives in the DVD market, the Hollywood Reporter said. With close to 40 percent of the home video market, Wal-Mart has a definite advantage.
Lori MacPherson of Buena Vista Home Entertainment said the deal with Wal-Mart made good business sense.
"Wise Men" appeals to three of Wal-Mart's core demographic groups -- family, Latino and Christian, MacPherson said.
"The 3 Wise Men" was released theatrically in Spain and France in 2003. The English version uses the voices of Martin Sheen, Emilio Estevez and Eddy Martin, as well as Christian recording artists Jaci Velasquez and Marcos Witt.
