Exes 'color' Abrams a deadbeat dad

OKLAHOMA CITY, Aug. 26 (UPI) -- Color Me Badd singer Bryan Abrams, now working at an Oklahoma City tire store, has been charged with being a deadbeat dad.

Adam's first wife, WCBS-TV news anchor Shon Gables, and his second wife, hairdresser Ashly Abrams, told an Oklahoma City court this week the '90s heartthrob owes thousands of dollars in back child support, The Oklahoman reported Friday.

Ashly Abrams said her ex has played no role in the life of their daughter, while Gables said he owes her more than $16,000 in back support for their son. Gables' civil suit wants Abrams declared in contempt for failing to meet his legal obligation.

Abrams, 35, did not appear in court, but his attorney said his client was unaware of any child support order and therefore, it should be overturned.

Judge Allen J. Welch ruled Abram's request to overturn the child support agreement must be heard before Gables' contempt complaint, the newspaper said.

Abrams, who had hits with "I Wanna Sex You Up," "I Adore Mi Amor" and "All 4 Love," released a statement saying the charges were "allegations," and he would wait to tell his side of the story in court.
