LOS ANGELES, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- Rob Reiner, Whoopi Goldberg and New York Yankees Manager Joe Torre will voice the cartoon "Yankee Irving," directed by the late Christopher Reeve.
Toronto's IDT Entertainment Animation is shooting for a 2006 release of the film about a boy who goes cross-country to return Babe Ruth's bat to the star before the 1932 World Series finale, the Hollywood Reporter says.
The title character will be voiced by Jake Syzmanski of Nickelodeon's "Go, Diego, Go." Other stars on board include Brian Dennehy, William H. Macy, Mandy Patinkin, Robert Wagner, Richard Kind and Reeve's wife, Dana.
Reeve was co-directing the film with Dan St. Pierre and Colin Brady when he died last October, the Reporter said.
