The show will close Dec. 11 after its 1,331st performance at the Richard Rodgers Theater, Daily Variety reported.
The show was slammed during Chicago previews, but director-choreographer Twyla Tharp extensively reworked it, and it opened to good reviews on Broadway in October 2004.
The show surpassed the its $8 million cost last fall, Variety said.
