NEW YORK, Aug. 17 (UPI) -- British actress Natasha Richardson says she is taking a brief break from playing troubled women to spend some quality time with her family.
Richardson just finished a successful run in the Broadway revival of Tennessee Williams' "A Streetcar Named Desire" and can now be seen in the erotic thriller, "Asylum," playing a 1950s woman who has an affair with a patient (Marton Csokas) at the mental institution where her husband (Hugh Bonneville) works.
"Having played Blanche Dubois on Broadway for five months and prior to that being in Shanghai shooting ('The White Countess') for three months, I just feel, artistically, I need to recharge the batteries," Richardson told reporters in New York.
"I feel I need to let my family take priority for the next few months, so I don't think I'm going to work for the rest of the year. I think I'm going to have to take a rest from sex-addicted, chain-smoking, alcoholic, crazy ladies for a while," she added with a laugh.
