FX orders second season of '30 Days'

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 17 (UPI) -- The U.S. cable TV network FX says it has ordered a second season of the documentary series "30 Days."

Created and directed by "Super Size Me" filmmaker Morgan Spurlock, who also serves as the show's host, the series conducts monthlong social experiments, such as following a Christian living as a Muslim and having a conservative heterosexual room with a gay man.

Spurlock himself was the series' first subject, as he and his fiancee attempted to live for a month on minimum wage in Ohio.

FX said Tuesday the hourlong show has been the network's highest-rated, unscripted series to date.

"Our first season tackled some of the most important hot-button issues in our country, and I look forward to exploring more compelling issues next season," Spurlock said in a statement.
