BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Aug. 9 (UPI) -- Atlanta teen Ciara received five nods for the Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards, which she is also co-hosting with Brian McKnight and Toni Braxton.

The "1, 2 Step" singer received more Lady Soul nominations than anyone else Tuesday, just like the 2005 BET Awards announced in May, when she paved the way with four nods, E! Online reported.

Destiny's Child received four nominations for the 10th Lady of Soul Awards to be given out Sept. 7 at the Pasadena, Calif., Civic Auditorium and telecast in syndication later in the month.

Amerie and "American Idol" champion Fantasia also snagged four nods each and Mariah Carey and Alicia Keys are up for two awards apiece.

"Soul Train" creator and executive producer of the awards show, Don Cornelius, will honor the first lady of soul, Aretha Franklin with the Lena Horne Award.
