CHICAGO, Aug. 8 (UPI) -- Rap mogul Sean "P. Diddy" Combs is being sued in Chicago federal court by a man who claims the star lifted his slogan for his clothing label, Sean Jean.
The suit filed by Gregory Hilderbrand says he had patented the phrase "It's a lifestyle" three years before Combs adopted "It's not just a label, it's a lifestyle" as the slogan for his fashion line, MTV.com reported Monday.

The similarities between the slogans are creating marketplace confusion and make his line look like a Sean John knockoff, Hilderbrand's suit said.
He is seeking an injunction to stop Combs from using the slogan as well as punitive damages and attorney fees.
