LOS ANGELES, July 29 (UPI) -- Freddie Prinze Jr. says he doubts his wife, Sarah Michelle Gellar, would ever reprise her role as "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."
If Buffy does return -- either on TV or film -- it will be "not with Sarah," Prinze told reporters at the Television Critics Association Press tour in Los Angeles.
He also noted "Buffy" creator Joss Whedon was "on the movie train right now and it hasn't stopped yet."
As for rumors of a big screen "Buffy," Prinze noted the 1992 original "Buffy" movie with Kristy Swanson and Luke Perry was a box office bomb.
Prinze said his wife "is asking me more than I'm asking her" for a guest spot on his new ABC sitcom, "Freddie."
However, he said, it won't happen in the first season.
Gellar and Prinze met and began dating on the set of the 1997 "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and married in 2002.
