Jodie Foster to direct 'Sugar Kings'

LOS ANGELES, July 26 (UPI) -- Hollywood actress Jodie Foster has signed on to direct "Sugar Kings" but hasn't yet committed to starring in the legal drama.

The story based on a Vanity Fair article is described as "Silence of the Lambs" meets "Erin Brockovich," MTV reports. It's about a young female attorney who takes on a powerful sugar baron.

Foster hasn't directed a movie since "Home for the Holidays" in 1995.

"Sugar Kings" was developed with Foster in mind for the starring role, but she is awaiting further rewriting of the script before deciding whether to take on the role, MTV said.

Foster next stars in "Flight Plan" due out Sept. 23 and is currently filming Spike Lee's "Inside Man."
