Old, new featured in Neil Diamond show

LOS ANGELES, July 25 (UPI) -- Neil Diamond has a few new sparkles for his fans on his 44-stop 2005 concert tour.

"It's a new presentation," says Diamond, who kicks off the 13-week, 44-date tour Monday in Omaha, Neb. "Lots of new songs. Lots of the oldies. Some new situations. Some very intimate songs where I just play guitar in a small ensemble. Using videos and visuals for the first time, really, here in the states.

"It's a new show. It was very well accepted in Europe, and we love doing it, so here we go. We'll just keep our fingers crossed."

Diamond's tour will run through Oct. 26 in Atlanta.

Diamond will be releasing a new album, as yet untitled in early November. Produced by Rick Rubin, it features members of Tom Petty's Heartbreakers and Beck's band.
