Judge says Courtney Love 'progressing'

LOS ANGELES, July 23 (UPI) -- A Los Angeles judge said rocker Courtney Love was "progressing well" in her battle against drugs, despite a mysterious trip to the hospital this week.

Love was rushed from a Hollywood party to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center early Thursday and few details were being released surrounding the incident, the Los Angeles Times reported Saturday.

Her closest advisers would only say Love was fine and cautioned against speculating what exactly happened, the Times said. The sources denied Love suffered a drug overdose.

Love was not in court Friday for a progress hearing on her possession of a controlled substance case. After reviewing the rocker's records from rehab, the judge concluded Love was "progressing well" and said the misdemeanor would be stricken when she finishes a one-year drug program, her attorney said.

Earlier in the week, Love regained custody of her daughter, Frances Bean Cobain. The child with her late husband, Curt Cobain, was taken from her in 2003 following a drug overdose.

TLC not replacing 'Left Eye'

LOS ANGELES, July 23 (UPI) -- The two surviving members of TLC say their new reality show on UPN is not about finding a replacement for Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes.

"We're not replacing Left Eye," Chilli told Rolling Stone. "I'm sure it looks that way, but I think once people watch the show, they will see that it's not about a replacement."

T-Boz said the show is "way different" from the CBS reality show, "Rock Star: INXS," which has that group choosing a new replacement for lead singer Michael Hutchence from a field of hopefuls.

The winner of "R U the Girl With T-Boz and Chilli" will merely be a guest rapper for a single concert and on a single track slated for a greatest-hits album due out in January.

"R U the Girl With T-Boz and Chilli" bows Wednesday on UPN.

"Anything you have seized that was not brought to court and was not contraband, should be returned to Mr. Jackson," Melville told District Attorney Tom Sneddon.

Jackson's trial on charges he molested a 13-year-old cancer patient cost Santa Barbara County taxpayers around $2.7 million, it was reported. A large part of that was for security and crowd control.

Jackson now faces a civil case in New Orleans filed by a man who claims he was kidnapped and sexually abused by the pop star. Jackson was a no-show for a hearing in that case this week and another hearing was set for Aug. 17.

Actor Tom Sizemore sent back to rehab

LOS ANGELES, July 23 (UPI) -- A Los Angeles judge revoked actor Tom Sizemore's probation and sentenced him to a locked-down rehab center for cheating on his drug tests.

Superior Court Judge Paula Adele Mabrey threatened to have Sizemore arrested when he was more than two hours late to his Friday hearing, E! Online reported.

But once his lawyers had him in court, Sizemore admitted committing a slew of probation violations including using a "Whizzinator" to cheat on some drug tests and totally skipping some others, E! said.

Mabrey ordered Sizemore to remain in a Pasadena rehab center and take weekly drug tests until a Sept. 15 progress hearing.
