Judge says Courtney Love 'progressing'

LOS ANGELES, July 23 (UPI) -- A Los Angeles judge said rocker Courtney Love was "progressing well" in her battle against drugs, despite a mysterious trip to the hospital this week.

Love was rushed from a Hollywood party to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center early Thursday and few details were being released surrounding the incident, the Los Angeles Times reported Saturday.

Her closest advisers would only say Love was fine and cautioned against speculating what exactly happened, the Times said. The sources denied Love suffered a drug overdose.

Love was not in court Friday for a progress hearing on her possession of a controlled substance case. After reviewing the rocker's records from rehab, the judge concluded Love was "progressing well" and said the misdemeanor would be stricken when she finishes a one-year drug program, her attorney said.

Earlier in the week, Love regained custody of her daughter, Frances Bean Cobain. The child with her late husband, Curt Cobain, was taken from her in 2003 following a drug overdose.
