Los Angeles BAFTA to honor Liz Taylor

LOS ANGELES, July 21 (UPI) -- The Los Angeles chapter of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts will honor Elizabeth Taylor during its upcoming awards ceremony.

BAFTA/LA will present Taylor with its Britannia Award for Artistic Excellence in International Entertainment at the 2005 Britannia Awards in Beverly Hills Nov. 10, the Hollywood Reporter said Thursday.

Actor Tom Cruise will receive the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film, and director Mike Newell will be given the John Schlesinger Britannia Award for Artistic Excellence in Directing.
