LONDON, July 15 (UPI) -- Rod Stewart's pregnant fiance says the British rocker turned to God after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the United States.
Penny Lancaster, 34, said she and Stewart, 60, are regular church-goers and his new found faith led him to propose to her, even though he had said he would never marry again, the Daily Mail reported Friday.
Stewart has been married twice and has six children by four mothers.
"I think 9/11 was quite a turning point in our lives as it was after the tragedy that we began frequenting church a lot," Lancaster told Hello! magazine. "One thing I'd pray about was to ask that Rod would see the light and realize that I was true and real. What I didn't realize was that Rod was praying for just the same things."
Lancaster described their relationship as perfect.
"Every morning when we wake up we have a big hug, like we've missed each other while asleep."
