Newcomers among nods in Emmy drama list

LOS ANGELES, July 14 (UPI) -- Several newcomers were among the best actor and actress nominees announced Thursday in Los Angeles for the Primetime Emmy Awards.

The Lead Drama Series Actress category includes "Medium's" Patricia Arquette, Glenn Close of "The Sheild," "Six Feet Under's" Frances Conroy, Jennifer Garner of "Alias" and Mariska Hargitay of "Law and Order: SUV," E! Online reported.

Hugh Laurie of "House" is nominated for the Lead Drama Actor award along with Kiefer Sutherland of "24," "Deadwood's" Ian McShane, James Spader of "Boston Legal" and Hank Azaria of "Huff."

The Emmy Awards ceremony at the Los Angeles Shrine Auditorium will be broadcast live Sept. 18 by CBS. No host has been announced.
