LOS ANGELES, July 14 (UPI) -- Revolution Studios' Rob Moore Thursday was named Paramount Pictures' president of worldwide marketing, distribution and operations.
Moore will assume a significant part of the duties of departing Paramount Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer Rob Friedman, who's stepping down after eight years, Daily Variety reported.
Friedman's ouster and Moore's hiring is part of Chairman Brad Grey's restructuring aimed at boosting Paramount's image as cutting-edge studio with star-driven projects, Variety said.
Moore joined Revolution in 2000 after 13 years at Disney, where he was instrumental in the Pixar Animation Studios deal, the acquisition of Miramax Films and the agreement with Spyglass Entertainment.
