LOS ANGELES, July 14 (UPI) -- A representative for singer Christina Aguilera told People magazine she sliced two tendons in her hand on a piece of glass at her Los Angeles home.

That differs from reports earlier in the week that Aguilera was sporting a cast and sling as the result of an altercation with an over-zealous fan at a Paris nightclub.

Publicist Jill Fritzo told People Thursday Aguilera will wear the cast and sling for at least a few weeks.

"It is uncomfortable and she has it in a sling to rest it," Fritzo said, adding, "It had nothing to do with a fan."

Aguilera, who is engaged to music executive Jordan Bratman, is in the studio working on an album with rocker Courtney Love.
