LOS ANGELES, July 7 (UPI) -- Katie Holmes wants to wait a while before she ties the knot with fiancee Tom Cruise.
"Everybody in LA says they never want to get married," Holmes said, according to World Entertainment News Network. "Well I don't want to get married right now, but I do want to grow old with somebody."
Holmes and Cruise got engaged in Paris last month after a whirlwind romance that began in April.
The engagement has had its share of controversy, given Holmes' promise to become a Scientologist like her future husband and Cruise's public pronouncements on psychiatry and on Brooke Shields' battle with post-partum depression.
Holmes, who got her start on "Dawson's Creek" and most recently starred in "Batman Begins" is more than 16 years younger than Cruise, who has now been through two marriages and divorces.
