Mortimer 'thrilled' to be in Allen film

NEW YORK, July 6 (UPI) -- Actress Emily Mortimer says she was nervous, but thrilled to star in Woody Allen's upcoming British film, "Match Point."

Asked if she was terrified to work with the celebrated New York auteur, the star of "Dear Frankie" and "Howl's Moving Castle" told reporters in New York: "Of course! But you know that everyone that was walking into the situation with me was equally daunted and so you just get on with it and know that you're all in the same boat."

Co-starring Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, the drama was set and shot in and around London, and was a hit at the Cannes Film festival this past spring. A U.S. release date has not yet been set.

"'Match Point' really doesn't feel like a 'Woody Allen' movie," Mortimer revealed. "It's quite bleak and not comic really at all. But then there are these little moments that you know. Generally, it is the positioning of the camera or an odd moment in the dialogue where you recognize who's making the film."
