LONDON, July 6 (UPI) -- Pete Doherty, the troubled lead singer of Babyshambles, blames his stumbling performance at Live 8 on Bob Geldof's 16-year-old daughter.
The self-confessed crackhead said he wasn't high on drugs as he stumbled about the stage looking confused during his performance Saturday in Hyde Park. He told the Daily Mirror he was flustered because Geldof's daughter Peaches had pinched his behind before he want on stage.
"I wasn't lost for words and I wasn't out of it on drugs," he told the newspaper. "Just before I went on stage Peaches squeezed my bum hard and whispered something rather suggestive to me. It left me in such shock I didn't know where I was."
Doherty, who is dating former supermodel Kate Moss, was booed Saturday as he forgot the words to T-Rex's Children of the Revolution.
