
LONDON, July 2 (UPI) -- Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., will deliver the Alistair Cooke Memorial Lecture at the English Speaking Union in London.
McCain will discuss the unique relationship between the United States and the British in the lecture scheduled for Monday. The lecture is a tribute to the the British broadcaster and longtime host of "Masterpiece Theatre" on PBS Alistair Cooke.
"As Alistair did so eloquently in his 'Letter from America,' Sen. McCain can explain this country to the rest of the world," said "Masterpiece Theatre" executive producer Rebecca Eaton.
McCain's lecture, can be heard live Monday at 3 p.m. EDT at the Web site bbc.co.uk/radio4.
"I'll be honored to deliver the Alistair Cooke Memorial Lecture," said McCain. "He not only gave us a sense of our relationship with the British, but also a good dose of British culture and history."
