DETROIT, June 26 (UPI) -- Rapper Eminem has announced plans to perform Wednesday at a fund-raising event for the Parade Company in Detroit.

The rap and hip-hop star is scheduled to play a single song at the Rockin' the Rooftop party, an annual fundraiser for the Parade Company, which stages the International Freedom Festival fireworks, the Detroit Free Press reported Sunday.

Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick personally booked Eminem for the event, which is expected to be attended by about 2,000 people.

Tickets are $175.
