Rachel Griffiths gives birth

LOS ANGELES, June 24 (UPI) -- "Six Feet Under" star Rachel Griffiths has given birth to her second child.

People magazine reported Friday that Griffiths -- who plays Brenda on the Emmy-nominated HBO series -- gave birth to a girl on Thursday at an undisclosed Los Angeles Hospital.

The new arrival weighed 8 pounds. A publicist for the Australian-born actress told People mother and baby are doing fine.

Griffiths and her husband, artist Andrew Taylor, are expected to announce the baby's name next week. The couple also have a 17-month-old son, Banjo Patrick.

Griffiths, 36, has won a Golden Globe and been nominated for the Emmy for her performance in "Six Feet Under." The series is currently in its fifth and final season on HBO.
