Bo Bice signs with 19 Recordings/RCA

LOS ANGELES, June 18 (UPI) -- Birmingham, Ala.-native Bo Bice, runner-up of the fourth season of Fox's "American Idol," has been signed to 19 Recordings/RCA Records.

His first single, "Inside Your Heaven," written by Andreas Carlsson, Pelle Nylen and Savan Kotecha, will be released Tuesday. Bice performed the song on the finale of "American Idol," watched by more than 30 million viewers.

The B-side of Bice's single is a remake of "Vehicle," the Ides of March No. 2 hit from 1970. Bice performed "Vehicle" twice on "American Idol."

His recorded version features Richie Sambora, lead guitarist for Bon Jovi. Both sides of Bice's premier single were produced by Desmond Child.

Bice will appear on NBC's "The Today Show" Monday and NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" July 6.

The 29-year-old singer will be part of the American Idols Live Tour, which begins July 12 in Sunrise, Fla., and ends Sept. 10 in Syracuse, N.Y.

Movie soundtrack features Curb artists

NASHVILLE, June 18 (UPI) -- Nashville-based Curb Records has released the soundtrack for the Universal Pictures film, "The Perfect Man" featuring several Curb artists.

Performing on the soundtrack are Kaci, Kimberley Locke, Plumb, Howie Day, Jadon Lavik, Sarah Overall, Beth Thornley, Grits and Styx frontman Dennis DeYoung.

In the movie, teenager Holly Hamilton, played by Hilary Duff, is tired of moving every time her single mom Jean, played by Heather Locklear, has another personal meltdown involving a boyfriend. To distract her mother, Holly conceives the perfect plan for the perfect man -- an imaginary secret admirer for her mother.

The film also stars Chris Noth of HBO's "Sex and the City," Mike O'Malley of "28 Days," Ben Feldman of "When Do We Eat?" and Vanessa Lengies of television's "American Dreams."

"The Perfect Man" soundtrack is available in stores now, the movie opened Friday.


'O.C.'s' Peter Gallagher hunkiest TV dad

NEW YORK, June 18 (UPI) -- Southern California lawyer Sandy Cohen, played by Peter Gallagher, on Fox's "The O.C." is TV's hunkiest dad, according to TV Guide magazine.

"Dad's aren't sexy when they try to act like their kids -- try to be too hip or clever," O.C. co-executive producer Stephanie Savage told TV Guide. "But Sandy knows who he is. He is the Steve McQueen of dads."

Also topping the list are Dr. Andy Brown, played by Treat Williams, on WB's "Everwood"; Kevin Kinkirk, played by George Stults on WB's "7th Heaven"; Nate Fisher, played by Peter Krause on HBO's "Six Feet Under," and Jonathan Kent, played by John Schneider on WB's "Smallville."

"Smallville's" down-to-earth farmer Jonathan Kent continually puts his life at risk to protect adopted son Clark's secret identity and saves him from his biological father, Jor-El, according to TV Guide.

"Jonathan makes plaid sexy," says Schneider's on-screen spouse, Annette O'Toole.


'Brat Camp' new reality series on ABC

LOS ANGELES, June 18 (UPI) -- ABC's summer realty series "Brat Camp" features several out-of-control teenagers sent to SageWalk, The Wilderness School, in Oregon.

In the special two-hour premiere scheduled for July 13, viewers meet the teens ages 14 to 17 as they arrive at the wilderness camp and confront the issues such as anger, drugs and alcohol that brought them to the experience.

The teens deal with the harsh realities of camp life as the learn to deal with their issues. Forced to hike 10 miles with 40-lb. backpacks, the teens celebrate Thanksgiving in the wilderness without family.

Led by Tony Randazzo, the SageWalk field instructors guide the troubled teens through the 50-day potentially life-changing experience. Randazzo, who also serves as the series' narrator, hit rock bottom himself as a teenager, abusing drugs and alcohol and living on the street.

He claims a wilderness camp similar to SageWalk saved his life.
