Action star sued for $14 million

LOS ANGELES, June 10 (UPI) -- A pair of Hollywood movie firms are suing actor Steven Seagal for $14 million for alleged bad work ethics.

The suit filed this week in Los Angeles Superior Court claims Seagal slowed the production of "Today You Die" and "Mercenary" by showing up late for work, leaving early and making outrageous demands, E! Online reports.

The suit filed by Kill Master Productions and Nu Image also claims Seagal made unauthorized script changes to "Today You Die" and only showed up for work on "Mercenary" after he was threatened with a lawsuit.

"Seagal and his entourage continually harassed, intimidated and threatened the production and members of the production team with requests and demands that were inappropriate, outrageous or not contractually required," court papers said of the "Mercenary" shoot.

Seagal's attorney told E! Online the lawsuit is without merit and the claims are "ridiculous."

He said Seagal plans to file a countersuit against the companies.
