Bonnaroo Festival is all about the music

MANCHESTER, Tenn., June 9 (UPI) -- Rocker Dave Matthews says music is the key to the success of the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, Tenn.

"The music is what makes it a special thing and the fact that people are interested in coming and traveling to see it is what makes it special," says Matthews, who headlines Friday's lineup of the three-day festival. "People are waking up again for a lot of fun. Live music can be very satisfying."

The Dave Matthews Band is among more than 70 acts at the fourth annual Bonnaroo festival, including the Allman Brothers Band, the Black Crowes, Modest Mouse, Widespread Panic, former Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio and Ratdog, which is led by Grateful Dead guitarist Bob Weir.

A capacity crowd estimated at 90,000 attended the 2004 Bonnaroo festival. Each year's festival produces a CD and DVD of highlights, usually released the following spring.

Some tickets still remain for this year's festival.
