LOS ANGELES, June 8 (UPI) -- Sharon Osbourne is answering critics upset about a band fronted by actress Jada Pinkett Smith being chosen to participate in the metal-rock Ozzfest tour.

Osbourne, who organizes the annual tour, said she was "blown away" by Wicked Wisdom, fronted by the wife of rapper-actor Will Smith. She booked the group on the festival's second stage.

"I wasn't sure what to expect when I went to see Wicked Wisdom play last April in a tiny (Los Angeles) club at midnight," Osbourne told MTV.com. "But let me tell you, I was blown away. When you see and hear Jada with her band it's apparent that she has nothing but love and respect for this genre of music."

Wicked Wisdom opened 2004 European dates for Britney Spears' "Onyx Hotel" tour, MTV said.

However, fans on the Ozzfest message board criticized Osbourne's choice of Wicked Wisdom, saying its mix of rock and R&B is not hard enough for the traditionally hard-core metal festival.
