LOS ANGELES, June 6 (UPI) -- Actress Michelle Rodriguez is joining the cast of the ABC TV hit "Lost" next season, the network confirmed Monday.
At the end of last season, Rodriguez's character, Ana-Lucia Cortez, was briefly shown in a flashback flirting with Matthew Fox's Jack, E! Online reported.
Neither ABC or "Lost" creators J.J. Abrams and Damon Lindelof would reveal details about the new character or what role she would play in the mystical castaway drama.
Rodriguez, 26, starred on the big screen in "Girlfight," "The Fast and the Furious," "Blue Crush" and "S.W.A.T."
"Lost" was one of last season's biggest rookie hits with nearly 16 million viewers per week. Its first season will be released on DVD in the fall.
