Loggins & Messina set for U.S. tour

LOS ANGELES, May 28 (UPI) -- For the first time in nearly 30 years, Kenny Loggins and Jim Messina will have a U.S. tour.

The "Sittin' In Again Reunion Tour," presented by AEG/Concerts West, begins June 24 in Boise, Idaho, at the Idaho Center Amphitheatre and has 40 concert dates scheduled.

Since the debut release of Loggins & Messina's "Sittin' In," was a hit album in 1972, the duo has had a series of gold and platinum records and has sold more than 16 million in record sales including "Your Mama Don't Dance," "Vahevala," "House At Pooh Corner," "Angry Eyes" and "Danny's Song."

Both Loggins and Messina will perform solo material on the tour and will feature a "Sittin' In" segment that will allow other musical guests to join them onstage.


Chrysler mixes smooth jazz and cars

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., May 28 (UPI) -- Spyro Gyra and Chuck Mangione will headline the 2005 "Cool Cars and Smooth Jazz" outdoor concert series in Auburn Hills, Mich.

The free concert series, at the Walter P. Chrysler Museum, will be held each Thursday from June 30 to Aug. 4. Before each evening show, guests can take a spin in a 2005 Chrysler, Jeep or Dodge vehicle, as well as the new 2006 Dodge Charger. They can also visit the museum's special exhibition, "Dodge Legends," showcasing more than eight decades of Dodge vehicles.

Music fans can bring a blanket or lawn chair to the natural amphitheater at the museum to hear the jazz performances of: Marion Meadows, Paul Taylor and Alexander Zonjic & Friends with special guests Ken Navarro and Michael Brock.

The Walter P. Chrysler Museum is located at the DaimlerChrysler's Auburn Hills, Mich., complex.


'Dido: Live' to release first live DVD/CD

LOS ANGELES, May 28 (UPI) -- "Dido: Live," the first live DVD/CD release from singer Dido, filmed last August at London's Brixton Academy, has been scheduled for release.

The DVD, scheduled to be released June 7, features 17 tracks from Dido's hit albums, "No Angel" and "Life For Rent" that have sold more than 20 million worldwide.

Also included in the performance are: "Here With Me," "ThankYou," "White Flag" and "Don't Leave Home."

Filmed by director David Barnard, who has also done DVDs for Bjork, Travis and Nick Cave, the DVD was shot, mastered and edited in high definition.

Also included with the DVD is a special bonus audio CD, which contains 12 of the 17 featured DVD tracks.


John Cleese to speak aboard Queen Mary 2

LONDON, May 28 (UPI) -- British comedian John Cleese will be a guest speaker during the June 9-15 transatlantic crossing on Cunard Line's Queen Mary 2.

Joining him as guest speakers are his wife. Alyce Faye Cleese, a psychotherapist and author of "How to Manage Your Mother," as well as Australian actor.

Writer Billie Brown also will interview Cleese as part of the onboard program during the voyage from New York to Southampton, England.

Screenings of some of Cleese's films such as "A Fish Called Wanda" and "The Meaning of Life" as well as the television show "Fawlty Towers" will be shown onboard the ship.

Film and television comic actor John Cleese, who has appeared in more than 100 films, starred in "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," "The Life of Brian" and "Monty Python's The Meaning of Life." "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," is the basis of the new Broadway show, "Spamalot."
