LONDON, May 14 (UPI) -- Britain's Queen Elizabeth II has decided to have her portrait painted by Australian TV entertainer Rolf Harris.
Harris, best known for his hit song "Tie Me Kangaroo Down" and the TV show "Animal Hospital" said he was "thrilled to bits" about the commission and would aim for an "impressionistic" rather than a "photographic" representation of the monarch, the Scotsman reported Saturday.
"I am overwhelmed and hope I don't get stage fright and panic," Harris said.
The queen's sitting for the portrait will be filmed for a television program.
"The queen is no doubt aware of his portfolio of TV work and therefore decided to give him permission," said a Buckingham Palace spokeswoman said. "The fact that she has agreed to sit for Rolf Harris speaks for itself."
