LOS ANGELES, May 13 (UPI) -- NBC is not expected to renew "Law & Order: Trial by Jury," which has had ratings problems since a midseason debut, it was reported Friday.
The fourth installment in the venerable "Law & Order" franchise, "Trial by Jury" is set during the trial of a crime and stars "Cheers" alumna Bebe Neuwirth as a heroic assistant district attorney.
NBC declined comment ahead of Monday's unveiling of the new fall schedule, the Hollywood Reporter said.
Among NBC's new series pickups are expected to be "E-Ring," the Pentagon-themed drama from Jerry Bruckheimer; "Fathom," about a mysterious deep-sea creature; and "Inconceivable," set at a fertility clinic.
On the comedy side, "My Name is Earl," about a low-rent crook making amends after winning the lottery, and "Thick and Thin," about a woman adjusting to life after a big weight loss, reportedly are NBC's frontrunners.
